Today at the Business Marketing Association’s annual conference in Chicago, UK-based B2BMarketing.net announced its expansion into the U.S. market.
The brand will produce bespoke content and bring its events and social media programs to the U.S. for American marketing firms, ad agencies, as well as B2B marketing and media professionals. The U.S. team, based in Chicago, will produce a regular series of newsletters and surveys, and events in the fall.
According to editor-in-chief and co-founder Joel Harrison, the company's U.S. platform is an ideal experience for U.S.-based audiences, providing features, use cases, research, interactive discussions, and access to the company's global archives.
CEO and co-founder James Farmer expressed his confidence that the brand is in a good position to expand its success, saying in a statement, “With already 25% of our over 1,000,000+ global audience coming from the U.S.A., it made sense for us to engage fully this great and largest opportunity.”
In a statement, Harrison announced that Tequia Burt, a Chicago native, will serve as editorial director and lead the U.S. content team. Burt joins the company from Crain’s BtoB magazine and FierceCMO, Questex Media’s marketing newsletter.
“B2B Marketing will be the essential resource for U.S. marketers, not just identifying marketing challenges but also helping to solve them,” Burt added in the statement.
Leading B2B executives have encouraged Harrison and Farmer to bring their brand to the U.S., including Gary Slack, CEO of Slack and Company. “Our industry has a critical lack of voice; we need to have a singular media platform that addresses all the nuances and challenges as well as shares the successes of the B2B marketing industry. It is very different from what the B2C marketing media talks about,” said Slack in a press release.
The company was established in 2004, and, according to its website, is the number one resource for marketers in B2B internationally. B2B Marketing’s mission is “to promote, educate, inform, and enlighten B2B marketing, B2B marketers, and B2B brands.”
Its London based offices offer training specific to B2B marketers, provide resources for professionals in all aspects of the industry, and put on four events annually: the B2B Marketing Awards, B2B Summit, B2B Conference, and B2B InTech.
