Scott Schulman has been named CEO of UBM Americas, the global B2B events and information firm announced this morning.
Effective immediately, Schulman assumes control of all UBM operations in the U.S., Brazil, and Mexico, including the implementation of the company's "events first" business strategy.
Simon Foster will return to his previous role as CEO of UBM EMEA after serving, temporarily, as CEO of UBM Americas since June.
Most recently, Schulman was president of Rodale, a position he held for two years before his departure in October as part of a series of staff changes at the Emmaus, Pennsylvania-based publisher. Prior to Rodale, Schulman spent ten years at Dow Jones in a variety of leadership roles, including president of the corporate markets group. He also serves as chairman of the advisory committe for Dealflow.com.
“I am thrilled to be appointed to lead America’s largest B2B Exhibitions business," said Schulman in a statement. "UBM’s ‘Events First’ strategy provides an excellent framework for further developing UBM Americas and I am excited at the opportunities to enhance the business and deliver more for our customers.”
