Sale terms were not disclosed, and a spokesperson declined to provide details except to say that it was a cash deal, paid in full with no outside financing. The title is profitable, says the spokesperson.
The 62,000-circulation, 2x/year, Luxury Pools is a mix of controlled circ., event distribution and newsstand sales. But RMS plans to move it to a similar model as Ocean Homes, adding hotel and resort distribution, private airline lounges and partner customer VIP lists.
Included in the deal were two websites: Poolspaoutdoor.com and Ultraoutdoors.com.
"RMS plans to immediately increase the controlled circulation reach and offer print subscriptions," says the spokesperson. "It will add digital editions and incentives to subscribe to both Ocean Home and Luxury Pools. RMS also plans to expand and develop Poolspaoutdoor.com and Ultraoutdoor.com. The additions of the new magazine and the online platforms are a benefit to RMS, as the outdoor living brands expand the firm's luxury lifestyle division and allow a small publishing company to share resources between titles."
