Sarah Wheeler joined HousingWire in late 2013 as Content Editor, where she was hired to help lead its efforts to build a viable branded content offering for advertisers working with HousingWire. She quickly distinguished herself, not only in terms of her excellent writing and editing abilities, but in her ability to connect with clients and understand their marketing objectives in crafting branded content.
By early 2014, content marketing had already established itself as a significant and growing part of HousingWire’s client offerings—thanks in no small part to Wheeler’s tireless and yet somehow always positive efforts.
In mid-2015, her dedication was recognized when she was promoted to Magazine Editor for HousingWire’s flagship and award-winning HousingWire Magazine. In her new role, Wheeler not only oversees the magazine but also continues to maintain oversight of all branded content programs at HousingWire, as well, making her that rare kind of leader who can play across multiple fields simultaneously.
HousingWire branded content program revenues grew 22% during 2015, and now represent a solid 17% of the company’s business. Also, under Wheeler’s leadership, HousingWire Magazine was awarded “Best in Business” by the Society of Business Editors and Writers in 2015.
