Daliah Singer
Senior Editor, 5280 Magazine
DALIAH SINGER’S INTEGRITY AND COMMITMENT TO REPORTING AND EDITING STORIES THAT RESONATE HAVE MADE HER A RISING STAR IN THE COLORADO MEDIA SCENE.
The senior editor for Denver’s 5280 magazine, Singer is an accomplished and versatile writer and editor whose “Everyday Environmentalist” service package won the 2015 City and Regional Magazine award for reader service. What’s more, her features, “The Girls Next Door” and “The Canyon of Why,” provided gripping and illuminating looks at the serious issues of underage sex trafficking and suicide, respectively. Both stories have had significant social and legislative impact in Colorado and have secured Singer's position as a young journalist to watch.
She’s already compiled an extensive and impressive list of bylines, and she will only continue to grow as a talented and dedicated writer likely to spend her career chasing and telling compelling stories about social justice and reform. It’s no surprise that Singer has been consistently promoted during her short time at 5280.
Jennifer Storelli
Associate Editor, APICS magazine
APICS MAGAZINE’S READERSHIP OF SUPPLY CHAIN PROFESSIONALS IS HUNGRY FOR MULTIMEDIA CONTENT, AND JENNIFER STORELLI DELIVERS.
When a then-executive director approach Storelli during her first couple of months as associate editor to revamp a magazine department and make it more “Millennial- friendly,” she took on the challenge with enthusiasm.
Storelli transformed the “APICS Supply Chain Council Update” department to include infographics and other visuals to present research data in a more exciting and digestible manner. Now, less than a year later, she has worked with the magazine’s designers to create eight infographics for the bimonthly magazine and its tablet app, and has become known as the company’s “infographic guru,” often tapped by other departments to help organize infographics for other projects.
On the multimedia front, Storelli has helped the magazine incorporate audio and video content into its tablet app by coaching her teammates on audio interview basics, editing the recordings, and then converting them to videos for inclusion in the app. Outside of the magazine, she coordinates, markets, and produces monthly webinars for audiences as large as nearly 700 live attendees as well as others who watch the recordings on demand.

David Yanofsky
Reporter, Quartz
BY USING DESIGN AND CODE TO TELL IMPACTFUL STORIES, QUARTZ’S DAVID YANOFSKY IS CHANGING THE WAY WE VIEW AND USE DATA.
Yanofsky is a reporter creating data-driven and visual stories for Quartz. He uses the principles of design and the power of development to reveal stories that would otherwise go unnoticed. A self-taught practitioner of Javascript, Processing, Python, and R, he previously worked for Bloomberg creating interactive stories for its web sites, television stations, radio broadcasts, and magazines.
Yanofsky has been a standout in digital journalism: a one-man synthesis of reporting, development, and design. When available tools and information fall short, he builds his own. He created a software application to understand a network of commercial airline pilots breaking safety rules and posting about it on Instagram. He has also built a radio receiver to track the private helicopter travel into and out of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. His self-taught programming skills allow him to quickly verify, analyze, and combine vast amounts of data for stories as well as create ways to explore it online. And his graphic design training means he’s able to make sure that all of this looks great and is easy to use.
Currently, Yanofsky is suing the U.S. government to compel the free release of immigration data for which it charges astronomical fees.
